It took seven games, and the Los Angeles Lakers were pushed to the limit against the Boston Celtics

Boston led by as much as 13 points in the second-half, but Kobe Bryant and the Lakers came through in the end to win 83-79, capturing the franchise's 16th NBA championship.

If so, the Lakers would tie the Celtics who have a league record, 17 NBA titles.
